I drew these little guys today :D

So cute,Ains! ^_^
I love it.

You all can call me Dasha :DD
Dasha yeh? Awesome! :D <3
Those are cool, Ainsley.
Here's a photo from near my house.
gaaaaaaaaaaah!
Kitarski,this place is pure magic!
I'd love to live there. <3
Here's a little something I painted about a year ago :) I can't get anything newer up at the moment...
<______________>
sooooooo amazing!!!
I love this colors
^I agree, I love the colors of the sky.
Dasha, where I live doesn't usually look so pretty! But I'm glad you liked my photo.
WOW. All of you guys are amazing :D I just looked through the whole thread...I absoultely LOVE the postcard idea. It's the most perfect form of art I can think of. The polaroid idea is similar in beauty. Weirdalbatross I love the Jonsi inspired one! "Electricity wires are down, rainbow colours fade into brown" ?!?!?
And Cecelian I can't stop smiling about Glosoli happening in the distance of your drawing!! That's the cutest little reference ever. How do you come up with things like that!?
I don't get around to much visual art unfortunately, if I had more time I would love to. I'm a writer mostly...perhaps I could share a few snippets some day soon...'cause hey, writing is still art. :)
This is a Polaroid that I kind of like..it's on black because I forgot to scan it before albuming it:
">
Thanks for sharing everyone, this thread is beautiful. x
Thank you! And that's a lovely polaroid, lorinelizabeth! You should definitely share your writing too :)
I just finished this one last night while listening to Takk. Can anyone guess what inspired it?
Horizons suck. Look up, look down, but never straight.

@mikekelly, a couple of things.......
1. you are a SERIOUSLY talented photographer.
2. great piece of advice re: horizons
3. I'm getting ready to buy a DSLR. Somewhere between AUD$1000-$2000. My aim is not to try to be an earth shatteringly good pro, but just to learn and get a good understanding of things like depth of field, aperture settings etc etc in order to take my hobby/amateur interest up to the next level. In terms of hardware, the choices seem to be between Nikon and Canon. I know this isn't a photo forum, but what camera do you think would be best for a keen (but inexperienced with DSLR) guy who wants to really get his teeth into photography. The thing is I dont want to buy a half-assed camera so that in a years time I hit the wall when the camera won't do what I need it to do. I'd rather spend a little more than I need to to make sure if I progress the hardware wont limit me.
4. You are a SERIOUSLY good photographer with a great eye...Love all your shots.....;p)
Cheers,
na
Hey thanks! I personally have used Canon for as long as I've been taking pictures. It's really an ergonomics thing - what I'd suggest is going to a store and picking up and playing with each company's cameras and getting what feels best in your hands because both systems are perfectly capable of taking amazing photos at this point. I would say that Nikon has a slight edge with regards to bodies but Canon's lens system is for me much better with many more options. However you can't really go wrong with any system and a $2000 AUD budget should be plenty to get you started. I'd make sure that you get a camera, lens, and external hot shoe flash - the flash that comes on the camera sucks, never use it :)
You may also want to look at Olympus if you are just getting into it, though with your allowance you should be fine. I am thinking of upgrading to the Olympas E-520 as it has built in image stabilization, that way I don't have to spend a lot of money on image stabilization lenses. They are great entry level cameras though, my Olympus now has treated me very kindly, even though I could use lessons.
The only thing I don't like about Nikon, is that the sensor is in the lense, this tends to mean more expensive lenses, and when you get into the larger lenses the camera becomes a bit front heavy, which is fine if you are tripod'ing it.
New York is one of my favorite places. And this is one of my favorite friends with two of my favorite dogs, Bandito and Tristan.
I took this with my beloved Nikon oldie, not the DSLR. Unfortunately on my last trip to NYC my camera and I parted ways in a cab. I hope someone else finds good use of it.
@buddha, I think you are confusing Nikon with Hasselblad and other medium format systems with the shutter in the lens. All Nikon SLRs have the film plane/sensor in the body.
Yeah, just noticed I said sensor, which is completely not what I meant in the slightest, perhaps one should proofread. The Nikon I orignally looked at was the D40, which had the auto focus motors in the lenses, I don't know if they still do it that way but that was one of the reasons I decided on the Olympus.
@Birdish: i love it! The girl from Glosoli is really beautiful, you captured it nicely.
@buddha yep :D
i hate that nikon does that with its low end stuff also.

Ains!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*_*
hihi :D <3
Those first two are my favorites, Ainsley.
