   Thanks. I haven't seen the busy server problem before with MediaFire. It was consistently only part one that was giving me trouble. All of the others downloaded fine on the first attempt.

   My recording on DIME is of the first night in Amsterdam:

   Listening to this new, alleged soundboard recording of the gig that you posted, I don't believe that it is actually from the mixer. There's too much audience noise and there are obvious acoustics in evidence on the instruments.

   In fact, it might even be a doctored version of my own recording: edited, EQ-ed, maybe normalised and/or compressed, etc.

   No matter; I was just hoping to get an actual soundboard recording.

   Who is your source for this? Are you sure it's from the soundboard?

   you are correct though, in a sense about certain artifacts with the audio but there is a very good reason for this. Anyway Ive msg'd u on dime :)

   BTW, I just love those DPA mics, all the best Sigur rós concerts over the years have usually featured DPA Mics
   Ps: in addition to what I discussed on Dime in the msg, a friend of mine kindly put up a recording I did myself from the HMV Forum. http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=308683 This recording is more in line with my intentions as regards live material. It seems clear from your equipment & all your amazing shares you are a'pro taper' and as such Im sure you prefer the actual sound as heard on the night to what I have been doing. I would very much welcome your views and the experience of your'qualified ears' especially with regard to the HMV recording. Looking forward to hearing from you :)

   Sorry about that link. Clumsy of me. Yes, the link you posted is the one of my recording. The one I accidentally posted was to someone else's recording of the second night in Amsterdam.

   Yes, the DPA mics are very good. Expensive, but very good. Occasionally, I wish I had cardioids, but as long as I'm close to the PA, the results are usually very good, sometimes phenomenal.

   I liked your Forum recording. I actually downloaded it from this site when you first put it up.

   Personally, I prefer a less 'spatial' sound, which is why I generally try to get as close to the PA as I can. Otherwise, the venue's acoustics, which often aren't very good, get in the way.

   You're also right that I prefer not to artificially enhance my recordings. There are two reasons for that.

   Firstly, I do prefer the idea of having the sound that I actually captured on the night.

   Secondly, I don't really have a clue what I'm doing and I don't want to make things worse. :-)

   If I put out a master that hasn't been tampered with, that leaves people with the requisite skills free to improve on it, if they feel they can.

   Anyway, if you could send me a PM with a little more info on that SBD of Amsterdam, I'd be grateful. If it really is from the soundboard, I'd be curious why it sounds like an audience recording. It doesn't even sound like a matrix to me.

   I'm not questioning your word on any of this, by the way. I just want to improve my own understanding of things.

    I'm so excited to present the full concert from the 1st public performance by Jónsi. Its a wonderful fun filled concert with loads of banter between Jónsi & the crowd. The quality is great. I had a lot of fun mastering this particular one, taking most of a day & a night to gently tease and bit by bit enhance all the various aspects of the original recording. It was quite a learning experience just to patiently keep going until finally it came together as I had envisioned !
    I must give my heartfelt thanks to the recorder for sending me the original to work with. Without their kindness we wouldn't have been able to experience this historically important 1st concert from Jónsi. In many ways this one is fast becoming my favourite. It has a really nice honest & sincere simplicity about it, less polished and confident than recent shows - but in a good way! I love it. I hope you do to.

    congratulations for this very fine recording, it's absolutely fabulous!!!!

    maybe i should just point out the club69 idea is named after the fact that only 69 people + partner are invited to the studio, which makes for a very small group standing in a large studio with a drink, enjoying some fine music. jónsi clearly was very relaxed and didn't hesitate to chatter away, correct mistakes in his chords (around us: 2m50s), ...

    truly one of the most intimate concerts i have ever attended.

    I've got a great concert audio rip from 2/3 June 2010, Amsterdam Paradiso. The audio quality is great because it's not recorded on cam, it's direct feed ripped from an online video. This one is really worth it. If it has been posted before, my apologies ^^;

    There's a full video-concert there. Haven't been able to rip the video though, just the audio. Took a long time XD

    Some editing notes:
    - MP3 format.
    - I didn't know the names of the new songs, so I've numbered them.
    - I've removed some clapping parts, didn't think they were an addition.
    - Every song fades in and out, it sounds a bit nicer.
    - Added the ID3v1/2 tags. Again, didn't know the new song names so you can change that if you'd like ^^

    Oh, and don't mind the weird name of the rar, I'm just TOO 1337.

    No new concerts for a while, although im working on one at the moment to post at some point. There will be more when the UK tour starts (Im booked in for loads of them!)
    No sign of any live shows from Australia as yet :(
