It may be a little early for this thread, sorry.
Who's going? :)
It may be a little early for this thread, sorry.
Who's going? :)
Meee! And hey Peacefully, I'm know you from Mewsite :D I'm zestia on there, we
spoke about Truck festival a lot :) thought I'd
register here as well, nice to see a familiar
face :D
Oh hey! That's pretty cool! :) (And is your real name Helena? Mine is too. That could get confusing!)
Well, Helen, people call me Helena though. I prefer it :)
anyway, not long till November! Going to Brum as well a week today, eeeee!
Wooooo! (Bumping this thread back up, anyhows...)
Anyone else going? Thinking of going? Can't go?
Will be there
& 59 Productions will have the full set going for London!
(talked to them tonight after the Leeds Gig)
Excellent! I guessed they would, as they seemed to in May. But nice to know for sure! :D
I've never regretted moving from London as much as I do now.. :(
I'm going. This tread makes it feel closer in time, nice!
That's cool to know about the visuals (even though I'm sure it would be very much enjoyable without the full set as well)
And you maate should perhaps think of GOing even if you don't live in London..:-)
I aaaaaaam thinking about it. :) And I'm also ready to spend all my money (and even arrange some kind of flea-market to get some more, haha) to do it.. I just have to convince some friends to do the same. But now when I think about it, i don't even need that. I should start saving every penny I can find from now on, in a jar. The-Jónsi-in-London-jar :) sooo, maybe I'll see you there after all..
Hullo guys, I'm a nube here, but I just saw the man, the myth, the legend at the Leeds gig last wed, and am still so amped I just got tickets for London as well! Arrrrgh! I think I'm riding on a high atm, but my bank balance is going to kick me in the balls tomorrow :(
Still, Jónsi!
^ AND your name is a Mew lyric unless that was some EPIC coincidence. HI. <3
Jonsi does that to you- we're all suckers for him. I'd end up paying double what I did and only regretting it later. ;) I'm sure it'll be worth it though. :D
^^ Hope you get to go maaate. Get saving those pennies! :D
Hey guys,
I'll be will joining you all for the epic event! saw him at Latitude and it was kind of life changing! (and they didn't even have the set or visuals!)
Just a quick question about tickets, I got mine from the official store and got an email saying that no tickets will be sent out and all i need to take is the email and a photo id? just checking other people are doing this!? :D Sorry to ask such a stupid question, but just wanted to make sure!
thanks.
Hm, I'm not sure. I think that the tickets I have are printable things, that have a scan-able bar-code. I hope.
^ Anyone else know?
Yup, I got this:
"TICKETS WILL NOT BE MAILED BUT CUSTOMERS ARE ASKED TO TAKE THEIR ORDER CONFIRMATION E-MAIL AND PHOTO ID TO THE VENUE ON THE NIGHT OF THE SHOW."
Good job you said, or I wouldn't have noticed, hahaha... ¬_¬
I am very much thinking of going. I saw him at Brighton on the 14th Sept and was blown away! Although they were missing the window part of the set so i was a little disappointed but the music made up for it. I also really want my fiancée to see him live! She's a bit of a Jónsi skeptic but hopefully i can get her to appreciate his music and his voice.
The only thing I'm torn between is where to order tickets for, as the onyl blocks left in the Apollp are in the Circle seats or standing in the stalls at the back...
Has anyone been to the Hammersmith Apollo and can tell me what the view is like from the front of the circle? I'm hoping we'll be able to see it and feel the atmosphere from high up....
I'm going! I CANT WAIT! Spent loads on the concert tickets and train tickets, but worth every penny! completely! I have been counting down the days and writing it on my hand ever since I bought the tickets
I'm going!
my ticket says "GA Standing" Does anyone know what part of the venue that is?
Thanks!
All the 'standing' on tickets Ive seen has been on the floor in front of the stage with usually seating upstairs.
Been to a few Jónsi concerts now but by far the most awesome experience I had was being right at the front. There is SO much that goes in that you miss being further away. Just watching all the expressions passing over Jónsi's face was amazing & such a delight to watch
Here is a seating plan, still a little confusing though :/
Looking forward from upper stalls

Side seeing towards back from upper stalls

I bought a ticket about 5 months before the show & they give me a standing???
@victoryrosemusic I'm sorry, but standing is what makes a gig!
Right at the front mother truckers! XD
i don't understand why a good gig must be experienced necessarily standing, i think it depends on the kind of concert. in the case of Jónsi, seing his show (seating) from a balcony is the only way to get a good view on the whole scene and appreciate the projections, etc. plus, it's not a music to dance, so even a seating floor would not be a bad thing (i know that in general singers don't like seating floor). i experienced it both ways (first row and balcony), it's very different. the problem with standing on the floor is that you must be in the first rows to see something, but unfortunately everybody can't be there!
about the Hammersmith Appollo for the november 26th, i am sure that the floor is standing and balcony with numbered seats ;) you had not the choice if you purchased your tickets through jonsi.com (standing floor) but you had this choice with Ticketmaster.
i hope this is true! have been in the front two rows when i have seen Jonsi and Sigur Ros shows in the past, and I don't think there could be a better place to be standing!
Hmmmmm, well, unless they actually take seats out, there aint gonna be any front standing, just (bizarrly!) 2 lines of 60 people standing up at the side, at the top of the stalls - NOt impressed :(
i have just seen some videos on youtube of people standing up at front, so i guess they do take the seats out!
U Give Me Hope! Thanxs Liam x
Being at the front for Jónsi in Leeds was out of this world :)
Praise Jebus, you had me going for a minute there!
@alline I have also sat down at gigs before, and yeh, it does depend on the style of music, but if standing's available at a gig I'll take that option over seating every time because for me that's one of the integral parts of experiencing live music, because you're free to move around. I saw Jónsi in Leeds, and damn straight people were dancing, the man himself was staggering around the stage like an wounded elk. Because that is what genius looks like.
@ victoryrosemusic Ooooh, you were at Leeds? Did you get any recordings? I had a quick flick through the other thread but didn't see any!
hey :) @behind the drapes: No, for leeds I had one of those bloody annoying technical 'shouldn't have happened' inconsistencies which meant it all came out clipped although I just about got the beautiful song he made up when the bass amp was being fixed... which I remember ended with a lovely cymbal crash and an appreciative smile between Jónsi & Doddi = Magical :)
In cased you missed that one song, its here: http://www.mediafire.com/?6a57o5tduee7d68
Might be a bit easier to look for Jónsi here: http://victoryrosemusic.blogspot.com/
