WOW!! Did anyone else go? IT WAS FANTASTIC!!! (made up for the rain) I got some great video. Was funny when the guitarist knocked over his lager. I saw one lucky girl get a drumstick. The support act was a little quirky lol!

Yeah it was mind-blowingly good. Kolnidur was epic and really intense. The rain was a real pain, but luckily I managed to get back to St Peter's Square without getting my signed DVD wet! I didn't see anyone get a drumstick, did they throw it out at the end of the concert or something? And yeah, I thought the support act were really good, one of the better support groups that I've seen. Not too heavy-going or in-your-face before the real act began, I wouldn't mind buying their album actually, they seemed like a friendly, talented trio.

did this gig have the full stage design/set or no? jw
Posted 1 year ago # -
hey kimiko :)
what was missing was the large glass back piece BUT the area was still covered by a huge piece of material(the smaller front units where there)
-However, having seen the show with the back piece in London and the Manchester show without the back piece I honestly dont think anyone needs to worry that they will miss out. Thinking back, at no point did I find myself missing or really noticing the difference. The main difference is just that the images are not quite as sharp!
Also [I think] a lot of the visuals have been improved and some of the effects [as they interact with the music] are even better!!
- Whether this is temporary or perminant, If I remember, I'll ask the guys tonight @ Leeds
...But basicaly the different backdrop in no way changed the wonderful experience of the night :)Posted 1 year ago # -
Wow, thanks a lot for that download. Amazing quality! I certainly wasn't expecting to be able to re-listen to the whole concert, thank you so much for that :)
Is it ok if I overdub your audio tracks on top of the video I recorded? I didn't record the whole concert, I filmed one whole song and then small 40s chunks of 4 or 5 other songs. The video quality is pretty good, but the audio is terrible, quite distorted because of the sheer volume of the gig I think. I'll give credit at the end of the video if you want, if I decide to upload it online. Thanks :)

Thanks for the download victoryrosemusic and the setlist. I almost got given a setlist but was far too polite and let someone else have it. It looked like I'd made his month though so it's all good. Haven't listened to the download yet but am looking forward to reliving the gig.
I also saw Jonsi at the Forum in London with the large glass piece and although it looked stunning with the entire set there (and the fact I was on the balcony so had a better view) the visuals are still beautiful and mesmorising. The backdrop doesn't ruin any of this. I actually quite like the trees on the backdrop.Posted 1 year ago # -
For anyone who downloaded the recordings, I quickly threw this up on photoshop:

And here's the direct link incase the bbcode doesn't work here, which is quite likely:
http://img696.imageshack.us/img696/296/jonsiacademycover.jpgIt's not very good, and I'm sure there are many on here with superior Photoshop skills than I, but I thought I'd share it incase anyone else is as obsessed as I am with having cover artwork for all songs in iTunes :P

I was literally just updating my album artwork on iTunes!
Thanks for this, I really like it.Posted 1 year ago # -
@iarwan
Please use whatever you like for whatever you wish. No need for credits but maybe just link to the victoryrosemusic blog. That way fans can find and enjoy :)
beautiful artwork as well.
Im uploading the Lossless FLAC files tonight if you prefer to wait for the best quality?
@StumbleStopRepeat - I was standing about 2 paces away when that happened! I must have been inadvertently looking at you...small world :0
@ - the drumstick was thrown out by one of the roadies as they where taking down the drums. It was splintered & mashed up!!Posted 1 year ago # -
@ victoryrosemusic
the links for the downloads don't seem to be working for me, is anyone else having this problem?
also what is the difference between the flac and mp3 files, do flac files work on i tunes for example?Posted 1 year ago # -
Hello i was just wondering what time did the concert finish? Thanks.
Posted 1 year ago # -
s_archer101 it finished at 11:26 by my phone. It was a couple of minutes shorter than the Glasgow show the previous night. Jonsi did more note holding and did a big silent spot in the Glasgow show. Its funny both shows were quite different, I'm not sure which I thought was better - i think i preferred the Manchester crowd... I think.

It finished just before 10:30 (I think Digger is on EURO timezone lol)
I just missed out on a setlist but did manage to be at the front right in front of jonsi, so got some good video. The girl who got the drumstick (or were there 2 sticks) was screaming with joy lol!
Some good info and downloads available on this thread - thanks guys!Posted 1 year ago # -
Thanks gone see and Digger! I need to sort out trains for tomorrow's gig! Thank you once again!

Duh! I meant 10:26. I was in bed at 11:30 to get up at 5am for an early flight. Rock and roll! (not)

@pkw - As im on my hols Im uploading these files on various internets when and if I can. Maybe by next week I will be able to upload more qaulified posts.
Please email me direct with any specific problems so I can help you directly.
-FLAC is the same quality as a CD file (lossless) where as MP3 is much smaller because many [in-audable] frequencies are removed.
You can't play FLAC in iTunes/iPod but you CAN re-encode to ALAC (apple lossless)
Again feel free to email me if I can help with specifics
