Hi.
I can't help noticing the lack of Icelandic dates. Are any planned? Or will there be a homecoming concert (in the style of Sigur Ros in 2008 etc) in November? Or maybe Airwaves?
Just thought I'd ask.

Hey! Since they added a concert (thanks God) at Apollo Hamersmith/London in November... there is still plenty of time i guess for many other city`s to be added including Reikiavik.

there are plans for a reykjavík concert but we're not sure exactly when this would be. maybe closer towards the end of the year. no worries, jónsi has not forgotten his home country, far from it. i think it's more of a case of "saving the best for last" ;)

C'mon Darren and Bjossi - let the cat out of the bag on this one, please! Is it worth booking flights to Iceland over the weekend 27/28th November?!

I need to find a student job, no more money for a Belgium-Iceland Flight :(
That seems more expensive than last year I find :s

I know it's a pipedream, but since I'm coming to Airwaves this year, yeah that would be a good date methinks!!

edster- i wouldn't book any tickets without a confirmed concert date, which we don't have yet.

So, just booked and confirmed my trip to airwaves. here is my dreamlist that have not been mentioned on the site yet:
Jonsi of course,
Dr. Gunni (As witty and hilarious as he is over e-mail I can't imagine what a live show would be like)
Florita (Featuring Benni from Skatar)
and FM Belfast. So yeah, if it's not too big of a bother could someone make this happen, thx

you'll have a great time irrespective of what bands play :)

Oh I'm sure, Bloodgroup, Syrkur etc..etc.... Bang Gang (who I instantly fell in love with after the Falkar soundtrack) and Minus!!!
But, one's got to wish as well don't they.

Quick update - had chance to ask Jonsi about this at Latitude yesterday. He said that there will be a gig in Iceland, but not until December.

Airwaves is 13 - 17 october isn'it ? Edster , why do you mention 27 november ?
Is it worth flying to Reykjavik for this festival ?
When is the best period for a winter trip to Iceland ?Posted 1 year ago # -
Jackyprema - I only mentioned 27 November as this is pretty much what happened with Sigur Ros' tour in 2008. They finished by playing London and then Reykjavik in succession.
Airwaves is an excellent festival, although I think its very unlikely that Jonsi will play. It will still be great though, I definately recommend it.Posted 1 year ago # -
Darren. Please put me out of my misery.........................!

I am sooo debating this show, it would mean a 4 hour busride on the Chinatown bus to NYC, and a 4 hour busride home that night so I didn't miss more than a half days worth of work, but I would love to see him again, methinks it would be worth it.
I think the festival would be worth it regardless of Jonsi, though Siggi Arman won't be there, and that makes me sad, I would have loved to see him again, such a gentle giant.
But this year the sig O' and I will be at the festival, part touring part festival was the compromise I had to make, that and at a future date I have to suffer through Disney world. But it will be well worth it.
Jonsi definitely would be a wonderful focal point. Of course if Jonsi wanted to bring, oh say My summer as a salvations solder along with him on tour, or the Unwinding Hours that also would make me happy.

travelingbuddha - not sure what you are referring to here, sorry. I've read your post several times, but I can't help thinking its on the wrong thread.
Darren - I note the new dates in Japan. Can you please put me out of my misery so that I can start planning flights etc?!

From your twitter feed - @aarontwit sorry, there are no more additional cities to be added to the autumn tour - but its not quite true is it?!
Posted 1 year ago # -
that was in relation to the US tour in the autumn. there are still some more dates to be announced for the rest of the world.
