I will go to every show between Denver and Chicago, just tell me when. Man I am really prematurely excited, I really hope this happens. My friend works in an art studio, and he called Jonsi's booking agent to try to get him to do a show at his gallery (hilarious, I know, but it was worth a try). The agent did tell him that he would be back to the US in the fall. That was earlier this year, but it still gives me hope.

An interview from April for a french magazine, nothing new but it is 5 minutes of Jònsi...

For the french speaking : i found the type of languagused in the translation quite weird.

Is there any truth to another north american tour jonsi.com? Maybe just a glimmer of hope?
Posted 1 year ago # -
someone commented on some jonsi video on youtube saying "can't wait till he comes back to north america" so I inquired where he heard about this and he said "I'm Alex's brother-in-law, they are coming back and dates should be announced around September." Not saying I believe him as youtube is riddled with imbeciles, but still interesting.

despite having sold-out two rooms in london in may, the next date in november is still not sold out, nor those of the rest of the UK. he mentioned several times in interviews that they would return to the US this fall, but actually are they sure to fill the halls (in 3 months)? maybe they will do only festivals.

I hope he comes back to Canada... Toronto did get shafted out of the second show, low ticket sales be damned.

new interview here:

How's the tour going so far? There's been some great comments left on the website...
Jónsi Birgisson: Oh I don’t ever read those things. I’m sure there’s some nice stuff on there but there are also so many crazy people. I haven’t read my reviews or anything like that for 10 years.
:D

it's not an interview but a great video of Tornado in Lowlands:
http://3voor12.vpro.nl/artikelen/artikel/43837087
hope the entire show has been recorded by this TVthe audio of the entire show?
http://lowlands.vpro.nl/item/867481C9EFE041384A7BB246D44948BD.html... and a 'showcase' 3 ONstage of 3 acoustic songs also in Lowlands (lucky people):

He's so awkward and cute during the acoustic thing.
e; they've gotten better. I really like the stage set-up at Lowlands, it's simple. The 59 productions thing should have been a one off for DVD purposes alone.
Posted 1 year ago # -
yes, he is really shy in that tiny stage surrounded by people, he forgot the lyrics, made false notes on Boy Lilikoi...
about the audio, it's indeed the entire show :) and we can hear clearly during Grow Till Tall the mysterious shouts at the end, they are always identical, so i guess they are pre-recorded (?)
Posted 1 year ago # -
No they aren't identical as far as I can tell, I was sent 3 different versions and the shouts do vary. Not alot but they do.

The Lowlands on-stage thing is adorable. I prefer the acoustic stuff often.

jonsi interview @ pukkelpop
http://www.stubru.be/media/jonsitoerenishel
appears sigur ros have been recording new stuff inbetween jonsi touring, a string orchestra, a children's choir, one song also.. not sure if it is news, to me it is :-)
Posted 1 year ago # -
thank you idiotic, good news and yes, it's new!
indeed, he said that he wanted to work with sigur ros between his tour, but he had little time... so, he never stops working! and if they recorded this stuff, that means that some songs are already written?
(maybe the "2009 old stuff" never went to the trash hehe...)
:)

jónsi's flight at the end of the interview is hilarious. ^ thanks, alline!

Another unusual challenge awaits Jónsi this autumn when he goes head to head with the likes of Paul McCartney, Randy Newman and Leona Lewis at the World Soundtrack Awards in Ghent. Jonsi has been nominated for 'best original song written for a film' for the track Sticks and Stones, which was featured in the animated movie How To Train Your Dragon.
oh! :D

I would have never thought he could be nominated ! Anyway, that's the coolest thing ever ! Thx Alline (Btw are you Al from Hopeland ?)

It's gonna be Leona Lewis who takes it.

not really an interview, but there was a programme on NPR dedicated to Jónsi's live show, listen and read it here http://www.npr.org/blogs/alltechconsidered/2010/09/27/130164130/jonsi
